Program Vision
To be a pioneering educational program that contributes at the highest level to regional and national development in the tourism sector, adopts innovative approaches, and maintains continuous university-sector cooperation. We aim to be respected and preferred nationwide while strictly adhering to universal and professional ethical rules and academic excellence.
Program Mission
To raise professional tourism experts who can fully respond to the current expectations of the tourism industry, equipped with modern professional knowledge and practical skills. We strive to develop individuals with high communication abilities and respect for social values, thereby providing direct and sustainable support to the economic development of our country.
Educational Objectives and Core Learning Outcomes
Our primary educational objective is to provide students with in-depth expertise in basic business management, sustainable tourism, and alternative tourism. In this direction, our students acquire vital professional gains such as planning processes for front office, housekeeping, and food and beverage departments, utilizing professional foreign languages, and solving problems during crises. Furthermore, they acquire the skills to successfully realize their own projects with an entrepreneurial spirit.
Internship and Cooperative Education
Students must complete a compulsory internship of 30 working days (at least 240 hours) to graduate; the internship is assessed in the TUR 211 Internship Evaluation course in the third semester. In the fourth semester, students may choose the 30-ECTS Cooperative Education Programme course (OED TUR) and complete the semester with applied training in a tourism enterprise.
Employment Opportunities and Career Planning
Our graduates find opportunities to work at various management levels in national and international chain hotels, holiday villages, travel agencies, airlines, and food and beverage enterprises. Furthermore, thanks to the entrepreneurship training they receive, they can establish their own tourism businesses and draw a solid, reliable, and long-term career plan as independent investors and industry professionals.
Undergraduate Programs for Vertical Transfer
Our graduates can advance their education to a four-year undergraduate level through the Vertical Transfer Exam organized annually by the Student Selection and Placement Center. Primary departments for transfer include Tourism Management, Hospitality Management, Tourism Guidance, Food and Beverage Management, Gastronomy and Culinary Arts, Business Administration, and Public Relations, offering extensive opportunities for academic and professional growth.
