The Quality Commission of the Department of Hotel, Restaurant and Catering Services held its first meeting of the 2026-2027 academic year on Monday, 19 October 2026 at 10:00 in the office of the Head of Department, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Talip ARSU. The meeting, chaired by the Commission Chair Assoc. Prof. Dr. Talip ARSU, was attended by the commission members Asst. Prof. Dr. Serap SERİN KARACAER and Lecturer Dr. Gülsüm Cansu DİKKAŞ.
The following matters were discussed and decided at the meeting:
Course Evaluation Survey PDCA Report: The implementation of the improvement measures identified in the 2025-2026 Spring Semester PDCA Report was evaluated. It was decided that the commission will check the uploading of course syllabi to OBS/UZEM and the announcement of office hours, and that an in-program improvement meeting will be held in November 2026. For 2026-2027, the target is to raise the overall program score to 4.45 or above.
Bologna Information Package: The revisions made to the information package of the Tourism and Hotel Management Program (reducing the program outcomes from 14 to 12, updating the TQF-HE matrix and preparing a new information package for the course TUR 102 Management and Organization) were evaluated.
Unit Quality Policy and 2026-2027 Department Quality Action Plan: The quality policy was reviewed in line with the principle of reviewing it at the beginning of each academic year, and it was decided to maintain it in its current form. The action plan, prepared on the basis of the areas for improvement identified in the 2025 Unit Self-Evaluation Report, was adopted; its progress will be monitored by the commission at the end of each semester.
Department Website: The publication status of quality documents on the department website was checked, and it was decided to review the documents at the beginning and end of each semester.
2026 Unit Self-Evaluation Report: The division of tasks for preparing the report was set according to the working subgroups of the commission; draft texts and evidence documents are to be submitted to the commission chair by 21.10.2026.
